The Beeper Mini app, which allowed Android users to communicate with iMessage clients, stopped working just a few days after its launch. The developer believes that the problem is caused by Apple’s intervention, the portal reported 4pda.
Eric Migikowski, co-founder of Beeper and founder of the Pebble brand, expressed concerns about Apple’s possible restrictions, emphasizing the importance of privacy and security in communication between iPhone and Android users.
“If it really is Apple, I think the biggest question is this: If Apple really cares about the privacy and security of iPhone users, why would they try to destroy the service that allows iPhones to send encrypted messages to Android users?” – Migikowski wondered.
However, Beeper developers announced that the ability to send messages via Beeper Cloud has been brought back. They also promised to release an update for Beeper Mini soon. It was noted that the company extended the trial period for another week due to service interruptions.
Nothing recently attempted to implement iMessage support on Android, but their solution was deemed not secure enough and the service was shut down.
