Nearly a third of Russians (36%) are confident that their smartphones are listening to their conversations. socialbites.ca learned about this from a survey conducted by the MTS company (the results are available to editors).
The survey also showed that 32% believe their device could turn into a “brick” due to the smartphone being blocked by the manufacturer. One in six smartphone owners (17%) try not to talk anything near their smartphone for fear of wiretapping. Just over a quarter of respondents (27%) believe that mobile phones emit radiation harmful to health, so it is better not to keep them near you or carry them in your pocket.
As a measure to protect personal data, 39% of users disable geolocation. At the same time, more than half of the respondents (51%) are not afraid to use face or fingerprint screen unlock functions. Fear of leaks prevents 40% of users from storing inappropriate photos on their smartphones. One in nine people decide to create such content only when access to the network is disabled. Only 15% of respondents voluntarily take risks by not deleting provocative photos, but they worry someone might access them.
