Author of the TechDroider YouTube channel published Video of an experiment where the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung S23 Ultra, and Pixel 7 Pro were frozen in water for six hours.
Before that, smartphones were placed under the rain and splashed in the shower, which did not affect their performance in any way. The blogger then complicated the experiment by placing the devices in a container of water. But the smartphones continued to work and then showed a message that the USB Type-C port needed to be dried before charging. Moreover, the flagship Google Pixel 7 Pro even reported that its connector was dry and ready to charge.
The blogger was also surprised that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra continued to detect pressures from the S Pen stylus underwater.
TechDroider then froze the smartphones in water for six hours. After defrosting, speaker performance deteriorated on all three devices, and the condensation formed under the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s camera evaporated in a short time. After a day, all smartphones were back to full working condition except for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which required a reboot to connect to wired charging.
Previously Apple denied iPhone 15 owner had to replace his smartphone with swollen batteries.
