Russian scientist evaluated the situation with ozone holes 14:05

Viktor Danilov-Danilyan, scientific director of the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that progress in the field of ecology is now visible only in solving the problem of ozone holes, all other global indicators are only worsening. This was reported by RIA News.

“Absolutely all global environmental characteristics are deteriorating, but this is the only exception that characterizes the state of the ozone layer,” the Russian scientist emphasized.

Danilov-Danilyan assessed the environmental situation during the Altai Economic Forum “The Topic of Nature”.

The expert pointed out that the properties of the ozone layer have now improved following the adoption of the Montreal Protocol and the implementation of all obligations.

However, all other global environmental indicators point to a negative trend; The concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is increasing and forest areas are shrinking.
