Technoexpert Philip Belikov told socialbites.ca that it is more profitable for Russians to buy iPhones from the USA and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), they are cheaper there. At the same time, he believes that it is not worth buying the new iPhone 15 just yet, it is better to choose something from the previous lines.
“The best prices for new iPhones are, of course, in America. They are traditionally sourced from there, but it is one of the most difficult markets. You should also remember that not only the price but also the equipment varies. iPhones for different regions are slightly different. If we bring American iPhones, there will be no normal SIM card. There is a version with only eSIM (electronic SIM card), and not every resident of Russia has the desire and opportunity to give up his SIM card. Moreover, there may be some restrictions regarding operators and the cities where a person purchases a smartphone. That’s why you need to pay attention to the American iPhone. On the contrary, iPhone from Hong Kong comes with two SIM cards like Android smartphones. But this option is more expensive and is sold only in Hong Kong,” Belikov said.
The expert noted that in Russia the global version of the iPhone is usually sold with a SIM card and eSIM. This version is close to the European version and can be purchased in the UAE.
“Probably the most correct and simplest way is to buy and transport an iPhone in the United Arab Emirates. They come out there first, prices are quite normal. Moreover, our relations with the UAE are much simpler than our relations with America. Belikov stated that everything is simpler in terms of logistics.
The expert also said that prices for pre-ordering the new iPhone from Russian retailers are “too high.” According to him, for 130 thousand rubles the buyer will receive an iPhone 15 with 128 G – “a fairly simple device.”
“Right now, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expensive and a bad buy in my opinion because the devices are technically not that cool. For this money, you can safely buy the iPhone 14 Pro Max and be a super happy person. Great screen, great cameras – that’s not the case with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. Moreover, the technology expert emphasized that even the iPhone 13 Pro Max you can buy “will be better than its label.”
Despite these discussions, Belikov advised those who decided to buy the iPhone 15 to buy it within a month. The expert concluded that competition will increase, that is, prices will fall slightly.
