The Chinese company Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) announced the development of a flying electric vehicle and presented the capabilities of the prototype in a special video. It has been reported Nikki.
The GOVE electric car combines a passenger plane with a special four-wheel chassis for road travel. The drone and its landing gear will be separated at any time and will be able to switch to flight mode.
As planned by the developers, the chassis could be controlled remotely and sent to a special station in the city for charging.
The device will move autonomously on the ground and in the air, so the passenger will not be able to control the device independently. The owner will have access to the monitor and voice control to choose a route during the journey.
The authors of the project have not yet revealed the price and production time of GOVE. The company only stated that the commercial launch of the innovation “will take a long time.”
According to Nikkei, the GAC expects increased demand for flying cars in southern China, where major cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau are clustered close to the sea and a wide river delta.
