Entrepreneurship is a full-time career, just as it is in companies, public services, and academia. For this reason, Sberbank has created a system that supports entrepreneurship projects for both well-established entrepreneurs and young people who choose a career path. Natalya Magidey, Sberbank’s Managing Director and Head of Startup Ecosystem, spoke about this at the Powerful Ideas of the New Time forum.
The expert noted that a database of university startups has been created on the SberUnity platform to bring together entrepreneurs, companies and investors. Private investors interested in investing their capital in them will be able to receive up to 50% cashback from the Skolkovo Foundation.
Natalya Magidey noted that by creating a database of university projects, Sber solves three tasks at once: commercializing student projects, giving investors access to information about university initiatives and promoting the activity of private investors.
Magidey talked about another Sber project, the Sber500 accelerator, which is necessary to protect strong innovative companies in Russia and to attract developments in friendly countries.
He added that 80 graduates of the accelerator signed 6,000 contracts over three years and attracted 2.5 billion rubles of investment.
Also, the representative of Sber spoke about the company’s acceleration programs for schools, technical schools, colleges and students, graduate students and university researchers. 130,000 people from all over the country participated in the three-year study.
“Young people are better than adults at finding non-standard solutions and are already attracting investments by offering solutions to the largest Russian companies,” said the head of the startup ecosystem of Sberbank.
Magidey also emphasized that this year Sberbank and the Strategic Initiatives Agency (ASI) organized a joint accelerator as part of the Technological Entrepreneurship track of the Strong Ideas of the New Age forum.
The “Powerful Ideas of the New Age” forum is organized by ASI and the Roscongress Foundation. The aim of the Forum is to support the identification and implementation of initiatives and projects that will contribute significantly to the strengthening of Russia’s sovereignty and the achievement of national goals by 2030.
