The displays used in the Apple Vision Pro Mixed Reality Headset do not support ProMotion technology. In this respect informs Macworld version.
ProMotion is an adaptive screen frequency tuning technology. Thanks to this, the screens of the latest iPhone models can operate at a frequency in the range of 1 to 120 Hz. This parameter affects the quality of the animation image: the higher the frequency, the smoother the picture.
According to Macworld, Apple’s Vision Pro displays have ultra-high pixel densities for clear images, but lack high refresh rates. Apple recommends watching videos on your headphones at 24 frames per second. Typically, 96 Hz displays are used to play such files.
Macworld noted that 96Hz is very low compared to other VR and MR headsets. For example, Meta (recognized and banned in Russia as extremist) Quest 3 will receive displays at 120 Hz, PlayStation VR 2 already has such displays, and even Valve Index has a frequency of 144 Hz.
