Russian airline Aeroflot will spend at least 10 billion rubles on the purchase of domestic software as part of import substitution. In this respect informs Edition of Vedomosti with reference to Aeroflot Deputy General Manager Anton Matskevich.
According to Matskevich, the determined amount will be spent on the implementation of four projects. The first of them – the transition from the Saber foreign reservation system to the Russian analogue of Leonardo – was carried out by Aeroflot in 2022.
The second project will be the modification of Swiss software to serve passengers during a SITA flight on flight attendants’ tablets. The alternative will be created on the basis of the Russian Aurora operating system. Pilot testing of the new system is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
The third project includes the creation of an aviation service platform with a secure communication channel for data transmission between airlines and airports. The fourth project is a system for predictive analysis of the condition of aircraft for their maintenance and repair. According to Matskevich, Aeroflot is working with Rostec on this product.
Vedomosti writes that as a result, Aeroflot’s expenditure on import substitution of software could exceed 10 billion rubles. According to the Ministry of Digital Development, the airline’s projects have the status of “especially important” and are estimated at 18.2 billion rubles.
