Russian University of Technology (RTU) MIREA has developed a system to counter Vivaldi unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). It has been reported DEA News with reference to the university’s press service.
“The Vivaldi anti-drone radio countermeasure complex has been created,” the statement said.
According to the press service, RTU MIREA was one of the first Russian universities to demonstrate unique educational and scientific advances in creating an experimental prototype of a mobile electronic countermeasure system for drones.
The material shows that the targeted radio suppression system has two modifications: “Vivaldi-P” – a mobile radio gun, and “Vivaldi-K” – a radio case with remote control from 20 to 40 m. Provides radio interference suppression of drone control channels up to 25 dB in three bands up to 6.2 GHz and 1.5 / 2.4 / 5.8 GHz at a distance of up to 2 km.
It was previously known in Russia developed Universal simulator “Basket” for training in the setting of targeted bombing, reconnaissance and artillery fire from helicopters and aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
