Attackers started creating WhatsApp support service accounts and deceiving messaging users with confidential information. Regarding this, referring to users encountering scammers, informs WABetaInfo portal.
As part of this plan, the attackers create WhatsApp accounts similar to the official support profiles of the messenger. From such accounts, scammers try to deceive people for various confidential information. In particular, the fake employees of WhatsApp are asking for bank card information under the pretext of preventing a user account from being blocked. In addition, 6-digit authorization codes are requested from users from such accounts for once.
WABetaInfo warns that neither one nor the other can come from the official support service of the messenger. Upon receipt of such requests, the publication recommends that you immediately block the author of these messages and send a complaint against him using the appropriate WhatsApp option.
Also, a scammer can be exposed by analyzing the design of the account. In WhatsApp, the verification mark – a green circle – is placed only to the right of the user’s nickname. Since scammers do not have the opportunity to get such a sign in the nickname, they place it in the profile picture.
