The website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperacion (MAEC)) has crashed due to a DDoS attack by Russian hackers Phoenix. This was reported to socialbites.ca by Chapaev, the leader of the Phoenix group.
“The reason for the attack was the numerous aid actions by the Spanish government to Kiev. “In particular, this is how we respond to Spain’s promise to hand over Leopard tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Chapaev said.
According to him, the attack has been going on for several hours and will continue until the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs management freaks out and changes the domain name of the site. It is claimed that foreign office site cannot be opened from Russia, USA, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and some other countries.
At the time of publication of the news, the website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs was not open to socialbites.ca correspondents – when switching to the web resource, the browser gave errors 403 and 503.
“DDoS strength is about 200 Gbps. “I’m sure this attack has caused a lot of inconvenience to the citizens of Spain,” he said.
According to the Phoenix leader, in addition to the website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they are simultaneously attacking the web resources of the country’s Ministry of Defense and the Center for Strategic Studies (IEEE) of the Ministry of Defense. The grouping was unable to completely shut down the operation of these sites at the time of publication.
