Members of hacker forums have started using the ChatGPT chatbot to generate phishing emails and malware. About informs Ars Technica portal with a link to a report by security company Check Point Research.
Separately, it is pointed out that some users who use the neural network to create viruses do not even have programming experience.
An example shows how ChatGPT writes a Python script that can act as ransomware when refined. By using such software, attackers can encrypt data on the victim’s computer.
Researchers at Check Point Research experimented with ChatGPT, as a result of which the neural network generated a “convincing phishing email” informing the potential victim that their account was banned. The user is then prompted to open an attached file that contains an embedded VBA macro, also created by artificial intelligence.
