Due to restrictions in China, Apple will sell 20 million iPhones less than planned this quarter. About it on my blog Medium said authorized analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo said that Apple will not be able to meet customer demand and will sell 70 million to 75 million iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, 15 million to 20 million less than planned.
The famine is attributed to the outbreak of COVID-19, which led to lockdowns and protests by Foxconn employees, where iPhones are manufactured in China. Kuo also noted that Pegatron and Luxshare ICT have received about 10% of production orders from Foxconn for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, but that finished smartphone shipments are not expected before the end of December.
While the cost of iPhone 14 Pro models remains high, the absence of these models will significantly harm Apple’s 2022 Q4 revenue.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are currently not available for purchase in the US and are expected to ship no later than December 29. That’s why most Americans run the risk of missing out on their Apple smartphone as a Christmas present.
