Pixel Watch, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Tablet. All announcements from Google’s autumn presentation Google introduced its first smart watch Pixel Watch and new smartphones Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

Pixel 7 Pro

Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 received very few updates compared to last year’s models. This is estimated both in the appearance of the devices and in the hardware components. For example, Google did not experiment with the design and only added frames for camera lenses to the body of last year’s models.

Otherwise, the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 look the same as the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6.

Pixel 7 Pro received a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, QHD+ resolution (1440 x 3120 pixels), 512 ppi density, Always-on-Display support and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. At the top there is an O-shaped cutout for the front camera.

Responsible for the performance is the new 8-core Tensor 2 processor, made using 4-nanometer process technology with a maximum frequency of 2.85 GHz. According to Google, Tensor 2 is 60% more powerful and significantly more power efficient than its predecessor. Mali-G710 MC10 is responsible for the graphics, which previously worked well in the game Asus Rog Phone 6D and flagships Honor 70 Pro + and Vivo X80. RAM – 12GB. The built-in in this case can be either 128GB or 256GB.

Photo capabilities have always been the main advantage of Google smartphones. The company upgrades its cameras and image enhancement algorithms annually. This time, the developers also managed to figure out how to surprise the public.

Pixel 7 Pro received three main cameras: a 50 MP main module, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48 MP telephoto sensor.

Physically, only the last two modules have been updated on the Pixel 7 Pro. The new telephoto lens has a longer focal length and allows the smartphone to optically zoom up to 5x instead of 4x on the Pixel 6 Pro. At the same time, Google claims that the Super Resolution Zoom neural network filter allows you to take photos without loss of quality even at 10x zoom. In the ultra-wide-angle camera, the angle of view has increased to 125 degrees and autofocus, which allows you to take macro shots, is also available.

Additionally, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro have a Photo Decode mode. It uses neural networks and the Tensor 2 processor to smooth out blurs in images taken while in motion.

Another innovation in terms of video was the Cinematic Blur mode. In it, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro can record video with background blur effect.

The changes also affected the front camera. The Pixel 7 Pro uses a new 11-megapixel autofocus module. Google attributed the Face Unlock feature, which is absent on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, to this. It is stated that the operation of this function depends on the new Tensor 2 processor.

In terms of autonomy, the Pixel 7 Pro is likely to be the same as the Pixel 6 Pro, since the novelty received a battery with the same 5000 mAh capacity. It supports up to 30W wired and 23W wireless charging.

The novelty is already available for pre-order in the US and some other countries. Deliveries will begin on October 13. Price – from $ 899 (about 55 thousand rubles).

Pixel 7

Pixel 7 is a simplified version of Pixel 7 Pro. It uses a 6.3-inch OLED matrix with a resolution of FHD + (1800 x 2400 pixels), a density of 416 ppi and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. A similar solution was used on the Pixel 6.

The same Tensor 2 processor as in the Pixel 7 Pro is responsible for the performance here. At the same time, the model has a smaller amount of RAM: it is available in versions 8 and 128 GB or 8 and 256 GB.

In terms of cameras, the flagship and sub-flagship are identical, except that the latter lacks a telephoto lens – the Pixel 7 does not support optical zoom. At the same time, the Pixel 7 also uses an updated front camera with Face Unlock.

The younger model uses a 4355mAh battery. This is significantly less than the Pixel 7 Pro and even the Pixel 6, which in 2021 has many complaints about autonomy. At the same time, according to Google, the innovation can work for up to 72 hours on a single charge. However, the sub-flagship supports up to 30 W wired and up to 23 W wireless charging.

The novelty will go on sale on October 13 at a price of $ 599 (about 36 thousand rubles).

Pixel Watch

Pixel Watch is Google’s first watch. The device received a round 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a density of 320 ppi, a brightness of up to 1000 nits and supporting Always-on-Display mode. The screen’s rounded edges raise concerns about its durability, although it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5. However, third-party accessory makers have already started releasing special cases for the Pixel Watch that protect the edges of the screen from scratches and bumps.

The design of the novelty is reminiscent of the Galaxy Watch Active. The Pixel Watch is the same compact unisex watch, only with more “smooth” forms. By default, the watch comes with two pairs of silicone wristbands – these can be swapped if desired.

The clock is powered by Samsung’s dual-core Exynos 9110 SoC with a maximum clock speed of 1.15 GHz. 2GB of RAM helps it.

Among the communication modules, the device has Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, eSIM module for 4G LTE communication and GPS.

For health monitoring, the watch provides an optical heart rate monitor, blood oxygen (SpO2) sensor, and heart electrocardiogram (ECG) system, as in the Apple Watch and the latest models of the Huawei Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch.

The body of the device is made of 100% recycled metal and is protected from moisture and dust. The watch supports up to 5 ATM water pressure, which allows you to dive to a shallow depth without diving equipment. Of the controls on the watch, there is only one functional wheel button, like the Digital Crown on the Apple Watch.

The watch supports more than 1000 types of workouts and about 400 relaxation exercises.

Google said the 294mAh battery lasts an average of 24 hours on a single charge.

The device runs Wear OS 3.5, which is also found on the Galaxy Watch. So you can install third party apps from .apk files on Pixel Watch. In fact, this suggests that in Russia it will be possible to install Mir Pay on Google watches and pay with them in stores.

The device will go on sale on October 13, priced at $349 (about 21 thousand rubles) for the version without eSIM and $399 (about 24 thousand rubles) with it. The selection will be available in “gold”, “silver” and “black” colors.

google tablet

Another fundamentally new device offered as part of Made By Google was the Pixel Tablet. Since the tablet will only go on sale in 2023, the company made a short introduction.

The device will receive an aluminum case covered with a kind of “nano-ceramic” layer, resembling porcelain in tactile sensations.

Google positions the innovation as a premium device.

From the specs we only know that the Pixel Tablet will run on the proprietary Tensor 2 processor like the new smartphones.

Google held its annual fall presentation of new Made by Google gadgets. The event featured two new smartphones, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, as well as the company’s first smart watch, Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet. “socialbites.ca” describes in detail all the features and features of new products.
