In Group 5, a youth match between 3rd Infant’s Cristo Rey AD and Alfindén EFB, played at a Zaragoza school, ended in disappointment. The field turned into chaos when the referee suspended the game after 58 minutes as seven visiting players assaulted Cristo Rey teammates. Six players from Cristo Rey were hospitalized with injuries to the back, face, or shins. Alfindén supporters also entered the field and insulted the referee, who had to leave the venue accompanied by local supporters.
The final moments left the local team with six players injured from blows. Two of Cristo Rey’s players required hospital treatment before returning home. The game had started with Cristo Rey ahead, then tied, but tensions escalated after Cristo Rey secured a 3-2 lead, leaving visiting players visibly agitated.

An eyewitness stated that the incident was sparked by a confrontation on the wing with one of the visiting coaches. The players absorbed the disagreement and grew nervous, a situation described as sad and shameful. The observer emphasized that adults must bear responsibility for such conduct in events attended by 12-year-olds.
As per the arbitration report, the first incident in the Zaragoza match occurred when the referee sent off his assistant at the 50th minute after objections from Alfindén. A local Cristo Rey player was then dismissed for addressing the referee in offensive language.
The trouble began with a foul at the 58th minute in favor of Cristo Rey. Two Alfindén players claimed that Cristo Rey players on the ground were kicked repeatedly from behind. The minutes record up to 15 kicks, resulting in multiple injuries. A Cristo Rey player directed a profane insult at the referee, deepening the conflict.
Meanwhile, an Alfindén teammate reportedly delivered several more blows to Cristo Rey players. The referee’s report notes five additional Alfindén players who began kicking, elbowing, and pushing Cristo Rey players, prompting intervention from Cristo Rey’s coaching staff and supporters to halt the fight.
The referee ultimately stopped the match. Minutes later, seven Alfindén supporters began shouting at him, and local fans escorted him to the locker room. One spectator allegedly confronted the referee with a hostile message, asserting the official’s identity in a threatening manner.
