During a formal presentation this Thursday, Richmon Dapaah, a winger for Hércules, accepted a winter transfer to the Alicante club after identifying a rare chance to elevate his football journey. He described the move as an opportunity that cannot be missed to push his career forward.

The Spanish-Ghanaian talent will arrive on a free transfer from Cerdanyola. He expressed confidence that Rubén Torrecilla’s system will suit his game, emphasizing a style built on one‑on‑one duels, hard work, ball progression, and a preference for creating and finishing scoring chances.

He also recalled his first experience playing at Rico Pérez as a factor in deciding to join Hércules, noting that the club presented a significantly higher level compared to his previous stop.

The young footballer stated that he respected the decision of his former club to let him move on, believing Hércules to be a prestigious institution and a favorable setting for his development. He added that every player aims to reach the highest level possible, a sentiment he carries into his new environment.

Having come through the Girona youth system, Dapaah explained that joining a club of Hércules’ stature changes the experience altogether. He is still under the age of 23 and sees promotion to higher divisions as the clear objective for a young pro seeking top‑flight football.

Speaking about his readiness to maximize every minute the coach provides, Dapaah noted that the most noticeable difference versus Cerdanyola was the level of training intensity. He also expressed a desire to make his competitive debut at the Rico Pérez stadium and praised the quality of several teammates, including ball handlers and the active support of Samu Vazquez.

A measured view on leadership and ambition

Dapaah stressed that Hércules’ potential did not hinge on a single result, even after a recent setback against Espanyol B and the team briefly losing its lead. He pointed to the high overall level in the squad, the daily grind, and the reality that any opponent in this division can win on a given day. He compared the Lleida encounter to the latest fixtures and suggested there is little difference in the club’s competitive mood between those moments.

Looking ahead, the Spain‑Ghanaian forward anticipated a tough battle in the race for the title and direct promotion, highlighting Lleida and Hércules as among the fiercest challengers. He noted that both clubs are positioned to contend for the championship, based on current form and squad depth.

The Hercules sports director, Paco Pena, commended Dapaah during the presentation, calling him a strong option for the squad. Pena expressed happiness at his inclusion in the winter market, noting that the winger arrives with enthusiasm and a strong desire to contribute. He added that Dapaah’s willingness to learn and grow within the team is the most important factor guiding his new role with Hércules.
