Inter Miami has announced its first foreign tour in China, scheduled for early November. The club will take the field in two exhibition matches against Chinese Super League opponents as part of a broader push to expand its international footprint and engage new fan bases across North America and Asia.

On November 5, Inter Miami will face Qingdao Hainiu FC at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, followed by a November 8 showdown with Chengdu Rongcheng at Phoenix Hill Sports Park. These friendly fixtures are positioned during the late stage of Inter Miami’s MLS season, offering players valuable competitive action to maintain sharpness even as the league schedule concludes.

Inter Miami’s pursuit of a postseason berth wraps up with home fixtures against Charlotte FC next week, first on Wednesday and then away on Saturday. The China tour also serves a practical purpose for the squad’s star forward rotation; Lionel Messi is expected to use the international break to continue peak conditioning ahead of Argentina’s World Cup qualifying window in November.

“We are thrilled to broaden our club’s global presence and bring the excitement of Inter Miami to fans worldwide,” stated Xavier Asensi, the Commercial Director. “This trip opens doors to new audiences and places, and it marks an important step in our ongoing journey.”

“The China excursion complements a season that already saw us lift our first trophy in 2023. It provides an opportunity to reflect on what worked and to sharpen preparations for 2024, as the team looks to build on last year’s momentum,” added sporting director and director of football Chris Henderson.

Inter Miami’s next match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, when the club hosts Charlotte, followed by the season finale against the same opponent later in the week.
