A goods container arriving from China, held up in an Italian port, is delaying Hercules from initiating the sale and distribution of season cards to its members as planned. The blue-and-white club hoped to open sales in person at the stadium box office this morning, but the card production holdup required a postponement to Friday, August 26 of the week.
According to the club’s own sources, contacted yesterday by the Alicante team responsible for producing the season passes, it is not a matter of printing on time. The material used to seal the cards and identify each subscriber could not be delivered on schedule, which prevents the printing from proceeding. The delay stems from the container of polymer materials allegedly transported from China that remains held in a port on the Mediterranean coast of the neighboring country.
In principle, the company hopes that the necessary material will arrive in time to start card distribution on Friday. If customs issues persist, they have already arranged a backup plan, receiving a batch of laminate cards from another supplier to avoid further delays.
On 26 August, a new date is set to begin physical distribution of the cards. The material covering the cards remains held in an Italian port. [Source: Agency]
Hercules emphasizes that the setback affected their internal checks, causing some controls to be out of sync. The club believes the supplier of the season passes will meet the revised deadline and begin selling and distributing membership passes at the Rico Perez stadium box office within 72 hours. A week-long schedule is in place to receive the physical cards, with office hours from 09:30 to 13:30 and from 17:00 to 20:00. A sale window is also available on Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00. On Sundays, the antebox office will remain closed.
The news comes as Hercules prepares to open the 2022-2023 season at home, scheduled for September 4 at 12 noon, against Mallorca B. This home game gives the club a bit more time to complete the distribution of season tickets, though virtual sales continue to be available through the official channel, hercules.compralaentrada.com, which went live on August 11.
