The Closure 2023 of the MX Expansion Competition returns to deliver its usual weekly surge of excitement for fans. In this final phase organized under the new format, Atlántico Oceanico retained the title, and now every competing team is eager to claim the championship for themselves.
As weeks passed, the 18 teams chased a spot in the final phase, but only the best twelve earned a ticket to the Liguilla. The top four earned direct access to the quarterfinals, while the remaining eight entered the reclassification round, a single-elimination match that would determine who advances.

The 17 final matchdays concluded on Sunday, April 23 with Atlante facing Durango. The resit followed on April 26 and 27, bringing the schedule to a close for that stage.

The quarterfinals were set for May 2 to May 7, the semifinals from May 9 to May 14, and the grand finale was arranged for May 17 to May 20. The Champion of champions period extended between late May and early June.
