FC Barcelona has secured the financing for Espai Barça as planned, enabling the Spotify Camp Nou refurbishment to begin and meeting the referendum-approved criteria, all without drawing on club equity or placing a mortgage on the stadium. The club has achieved this through a package backed by 20 investors, totaling 1,450 million euros, designed to cover the entire cost of the Espai Barça works.
The structure draws on a group of globally recognized financial institutions. It consists of tranches spanning 5, 7, 9, 20 and 24 years and includes a flexible framework with a grace period. Repayment will commence after the stadium works are completed, with expected annual revenue from Spotify Camp Nou projected to reach around 247 million euros.
FC Barcelona continues to advance its strategic plan for Espai Barça, maintaining the flexibility needed to evaluate proposals based on cost and timing. Throughout the process, the efforts of the Club’s Board of Directors and its internal teams were complemented by key partners, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, JLL, Pérez-Lorca, DLA Piper, Key Capital Partners, Legends and IPG 360, among others. The aim is to blend the Club’s expertise with best practices across the Espai Barça project to drive successful outcomes.
