On election day, Boca Juniors fans mobilized to demand a timely legal measure.
Boca Juniors faced a Sunday that was supposed to mark the club’s elections to determine leadership for the next four years. Ultimately, a court halted the vote, leaving a confirmed date unclear. Supporters organized a public display with a flag to express their views, while clearly backing the club’s official slate.

WHY THE ELECTIONS WERE SUSPENDED
The club’s leadership had initially scheduled the elections for Saturday the 2nd. A court filing by DAIA requested a one-day postponement to allow Jewish members to participate, which shifted the date to Sunday the 3rd.
Ahead of the appointed day, the opposition coalition led by Andrés Ibarra and Mauricio Macri sought an investigation into 13,000 members alleged to have shifted from supporters to full voting status. The court postponed the elections pending a decision on these eligibility concerns, with no new date set at that time.
FLAG AND MOBILIZATION
Even though there were expressions of support for a postponement, last Tuesday evening’s official suspension triggered a march. The procession began at Parque Lezama and moved toward La Bombonera, where the voting tents remained set up, awaiting disposition.
The march drew thousands, stretching across several city blocks. At the center, Juan Román Riquelmé addressed the crowd from the back of a truck, accompanied by youth coaches and members of the Football Council.
