Under the competition rules, the finalists are the two teams that win their respective semi-final Quadrangulars, as follows:
The teams that finish first in the home-run rounds of the semi-finals will advance to the BetPlay DIMAYOR I League 2023 final, where the champion and runner-up will be decided. This phase features two matches, one for the first leg and one for the return, played on neutral and home grounds as applicable.
The club achieving the higher aggregate result in the two legs of the final will be crowned the champion of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I League 2023. In the event of a tie, the following criteria apply: first the goal difference, and if needed, kicks from the penalty spot in accordance with IFAB procedures.

According to the rules, the club with the most points across the combined Phases I and II — the round-robin phase and the semi-final home runs — earns the right to host the first leg. In the event of a tie on points, the following tie-break criteria apply in order: the largest goal difference in Phase II, the higher number of goals scored in Phase II, the greater number of away goals in Phase II, the fewest goals conceded away from home in Phase II, the fewest yellow cards in Phase II, the fewest red cards in Phase II, and finally, a draw by lot conducted with DIMAYOR officials present.
