The Belarusian Football Federation has reached a formal agreement with the Hungarian Football Federation to stage its national team’s home fixtures for the 2024 European Championship qualifying campaign in Hungary. This collaboration marks a significant shift for Belarus as it prepares for the upcoming decisive matches, and it reflects the growing cooperation between national associations in European football.

Accordingly, the June fixtures are scheduled to take place at Ferenc Puskas Stadium in Budapest. The Belarusian squad is set to face Israel on June 16 and Kosovo on June 19, bringing together two important rivals in the group as Belarus continues its bid to reach the continental finals.

It is worth recalling that Belarus previously earned permission to participate in UEFA competitions but had to play its home games abroad and without spectators. This arrangement shaped the team’s international exposure during a period of restricted home support, influencing preparation and match-day dynamics for the players and coaching staff.

During the European Championship qualifying phase, Belarus has already contested two matches in Group I, facing Switzerland and Romania with results that presented a challenging start to the campaign. The team faces a demanding path ahead, aiming to overcome those early results and advance to the tournament proper.

Andriy Pavelko, the former President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, has noted the Belarusian national team’s commitment to continuing its Euro 2024 qualifying efforts despite the hurdles encountered along the way. The statement underscores a broader sense of resilience within the region’s football community, where federation leaders often emphasize participation and development across national teams even in trying circumstances.
