Everything is set for the Sunday discussion on February 19, marking the twenty-seventh edition of the Half Marathon and 10K “Aguas de Alicante.” Athletes from 37 nationalities are expected to participate, underscoring the international appeal of this event. The registration window for the dual race has just closed on Sunday the 12th, and organizers anticipate that the 2,500-runner cap will be surpassed. Currently, the field is led by competitors from the United Kingdom, with strong shows from France, Poland, and the United States also in the mix.
Two route distances have been confirmed, and all results in this twenty-seventh edition will be official, verified by judges from the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. The event will take place along the customs area of the port, at Pier 12 in the Ocean Race zone, with the activities centered around “El desembarco del Corredor.” Run numbers can be collected from 15:00 to 20:00 on the day before the race and up to 30 minutes before the start on race day, ensuring a smooth process for participants.
Entertainment will accompany the route once again, continuing a tradition that has grown into a popular feature for the second consecutive year. A lively animation contest will showcase the energy of the bonfire and barracks commissions, adding color and community spirit to the event. In addition, the prize pool has seen an increase, with total awards reaching 1,500 Euros to recognize outstanding performances across categories.
All runners will receive as a memento a formal, sustainable T-shirt designed for Esplanade, crafted from fibers sourced from 50% recycled plastic bottles. Finishers will also be awarded an official medal bearing the Plaza de Toros motif, reflecting the city’s landmarks and its coastal charm. The race will start at 9:30 a.m., with the Alicante anthem signaling the beginning and setting an uplifting tone for the day.
