FFKKR to consider 19 applications to change sports citizenship of Russian figure skaters

The Russian Figure Skating Federation has received 19 applications to change sports citizenship since the beginning of 2022. This has been reported TASS.

According to the source, seven of them will be evaluated in December this year.

“Two-thirds of the requests received were delivered on time, we met them. We’ll consider seven more in the December executive committee.

We cannot reveal the names, because for this, the athletes need to give special permission to process personal data, ”the statement said.

Let us remind you that at the end of February, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations and recommended that local and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

After that, various sports international organizations began to exclude Russian athletes from competitions. According to the IOC President, the suspension period is still open. Also, major international competitions from Russia have been postponed or cancelled.

Previously, Yana Rudkovskaya, the wife of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko, spoke about the popularity of figure skating.
