1. Speeding violations
Violation is considered the most common in our country.
The fine depends on the deductible:
- For exceeding 20-40 km/h — a fine of 500 ;
- 40-60 km/h — a fine of 1000-1500 ;
- 60-80 km/h – up to 2500 or deprivation of rights for a period of 4 to 6 months.
If the speed limit exceeds 80 km/h, the permit will be revoked for six months. If the violation is not detected by the traffic police inspector, but using photo and video recording tools, then the fine sent by letter will be 5000 .
2. Mobile phone and seat belt
There is a wave of fines in the capital for not wearing a seat belt and for talking on a cellphone while driving. The reason is that such violations are already detected by photo and video recording systems. In addition, the number of cameras in Moscow is constantly growing.
For an unfastened seat belt, you can be fined 1000 rubles. Driving tricks also do not save punishment, when only the upper part of the belt is thrown over and the hip part remains behind the driver. In some cases, cameras can recognize such manipulation.
Calling costs even more. The fine will be 1500 , even if you just hold the phone in your hand.
The traffic police reminds that using the phone increases the risk of an accident by 4 times. When typing a text message – 6 times.
3. Not keeping your distance
9.10 SDS. The driver must maintain a distance from the vehicle in front to avoid a collision, as well as the necessary lateral distance to ensure road safety.
So the Rules do not regulate the safe distance in numerical terms. If the accident didn’t happen, the distance was safe.
Not keeping your distance is a condition for many accidents. Experienced drivers advise to choose a safe distance from the vehicle in front, taking into account half the speed, that is, if you are driving at a speed of 50 km / h, the distance should be 25 m. Obviously, this recommendation is more suitable for driving on a country road and not applicable in a big city. In some cases, you simply won’t be able to maintain such a distance because other drivers in the next row are constantly switching lanes between you and the car in front of you.
Another method of selecting distances is called the “two second rule”. It is necessary to fix a pole or traffic sign on the side of the road. After this object has passed the vehicle in front, two seconds must be counted. This can be done most accurately by saying to yourself “one hundred twenty-one, one hundred twenty-two.” In adverse road conditions, the indicator should be increased by 5-6 seconds by 2.5-3 times, respectively.
4. Driving through a prohibited traffic light
One of the most dangerous traffic violations.
According to part 1 of art. 12.12 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation, the violator faces a fine of 1000 . If the car stops after crossing the stop line, a fine of 800 is due. In case of a repeated similar violation during the year, the fine is already 5000 . If a violation is detected by the traffic police inspector, you can become a pedestrian for a period of 4 to 6 months.
It should be noted that attempting to slip into a yellow traffic light replacing green is also considered a violation, as yellow, along with red, is considered a prohibition signal. In reality, however, there are no fines for driving on yellow.
Keep in mind. When passing a prohibition signal from a reversing traffic light, the violation is defined as entering the lane for oncoming traffic.
