Intel puts an end to the failures of Raptor Lake: the last patch has been released

Users of the Intel core of the 13th and 14th generations received a new microCcode update version 0x12F. This is the last touch in the long history of the elimination of malfunctions associated with unexpected malfunctions of the Raptor Lake chips.

The problem that the patch dissolves manifested itself in rare scenarios: with continuous operation of the system for more than a few days with a minimal load – for example in background tasks or when using office applications. In such circumstances, a “shift” of minimal voltage (Vmin shift), which leads to freezing or restarts, would occur. Intel -Senuurs clarify that the 0x12F update is supplemented with the large scale patch 0x12B of last year, so that the remaining errors are closed.

Earlier, in September 2024, the company has already released an extensive update of the microcode, which eliminates the main causes of instability: excessive stress in downtime, overheating and accelerated degradation of components, especially in top-end K models. However, individual users continued to complain about malfunctions in specific circumstances. According to Intel, the new patch has no influence on performance – neither in games or in working applications.

The update spreads through the bios of the motherboard. In Intel it is recommended that even those who have not encountered problems – this will reduce the risks for the long -term processor. Experts note that the story with Raptor Lake has become a lesson for Intel: the new Core Ultra 200S chips are being developed, taking into account errors from the past, and such failures are not laid down. For owners of the 13th and 14th generations, this seems to be the last major patch-dan, the company will focus on supporting the current lines.
