Intel has announced a new option for owners of Motherboards Z890 -200S Boost -Profile, with which you can safely increase the performance of Arrow Lake Processors without losing a warranty. The function is aimed at simplifying the acceleration for users and avoiding complex manual settings.
200S Boost automatically increases the frequency of RAM to 8000 MT/s, and also speeds up the NGU bus (from 2.6 GHz to 3.2 GHz) and the inter -component connection of D2D. For activation it is sufficient to install the BIOS update, to select the corresponding point in the gear section and to restart the system. The settings are then used without additional promotions.
According to studies, in games, the FPS growth reaches an average of 7.5%. For example C Baldur’s Gate 3 -productivity rose by 11.6%and in A plague story: Requiem – with 3.7%. Experts note that the most important contribution to improving the improvement of the memory makes: even the DDR5-7200 modules show a stable result, while the transition to DDR5-8000 only gives a small bonus (+1.2%), but considerably increases the costs of the system.
The profile controls the voltages (VCCSA – up to 1.2 V, VDD/VDDQ – up to 1.4 V), which reduces overheating risks. Important: Any manual change in parameters after activation of 200S Boost eliminates the function. Intel retains a three -year guarantee for processors, but only if the conditions of automatic mode are met.
The new function has already been integrated by the manufacturers of the motherboards – Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock. So far it is only available for the top chipsets Z890 and the Arrow Lake-S processors with the K/KF index. As noted in Intel, this will not change the positioning of the flagship CPU, but this will be a useful tool for a moderate upgrade “from the box”.
