In recent months, prices for equipment have fallen considerably in Russian stores: laptops, smartphones and accessories have become more affordable with 10-20%. The decline, which started at the beginning of the year, was intensified by the spring – sellers associate this with the strengthening of the rubles, the need to sell old reserves and a change in consumer behavior.
The main reason for reducing costs is a decrease in the dollar. Small sellers were the first to lower the prices to attract customers and large networks had to follow their example. This led to a wave of shares and discounts, especially noticeable in the laptop segment, where the costs have fallen to 20%.
Analysts note that price reduction is not the same everywhere. For example, in the category of laptops, discounts reach 20%, but some experts consider this a temporary phenomenon. It is more of point sales than a stable trend. At the same time, market places repair the total decrease in the costs of gadgets, especially noticeably in premium brands such as Apple or Dyson.
Some experts believe that the prices of the summer are stabilized, others do not exclude any further decrease by 5-10%if the rubles retain positions. In the fall, however, the reverse correction is possible – it all depends on the course of currency and the geopolitical situation. If the manufacturers who have left the market decide to return, the supply chains are simplified, which can also lower the costs of equipment. In the meantime, the sale of electronics will continue to fall, consumers prefer to save money, so that the upgrade of devices is set aside.
