The Chinese brand FEVM introduced the Mini-PC FA-Ex9, which combines high performance and compact dimensions. The device is built on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 Max+ 395 Hybrid processor of the Strix Halo line, making it one of the most powerful solutions in its class.
The system is based on the 16-core chip Zen 5 with support for 32 streams. The graphic part is displayed by an integrated Radeon 8060S video card on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, which contains 40 computer units. For tasks with regard to neural networks, a separate XDNA 2 -Neuroscope with a capacity of up to 50 tops is involved. LPDDR5X RAM reaches 128 GB, and up to 96 GB can be selected for video memory. This is especially important for working with large language models or rendering. The system consumption is limited to 120 watts and a compact unit with GAN transistors is used for power.

The case in size 192 × 190 × 55 mm (2 l) contains two slots for PCIE 4.0 SSD discs with a total volume of up to 16 TB. HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, two USB4 ports and Oculink -Poort are distinguished from the interfaces to connect external graphic accelerators. FA-Ex9 is often compared to the NVIDIA DGX Spark-A system for local launch of II models. However, the approaches of the companies differ: Nvidia trusts specialized Blackwell chips with a focus on clustering, while FEVM offers a more universal device. For example, it can not only be used for teaching neural networks, but also for games or the editing of video.
The device is aimed at developers from AI, researchers and enthusiasts who need high performance in a small form factor. The exact deadlines and costs are not disclosed, but analysts suggest that the price will be lower than that of Nvidia solutions. FA-Ex9 shows how modern technologies enable you to pack powerful components in small buildings and to expand the possibilities of mobile workstations.
