Elena Vyalbe, President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), said she will not follow the Paris Olympics “Sports Express”.
“I don’t follow everything related to the Olympic Games. I’m not going to watch them. There’s no one from us there, who should we support?” – said Vyalbe.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes should not be allowed to participate in any competitions. The organization decided to accept Russians and Belarusians as neutral athletes at the 2024 Olympic Games at the end of 2023. To participate, they had to meet a number of conditions and qualify.
The 2024 Games will open in Paris on July 26 and end on August 11. Only 15 athletes from Russia will participate in the competition.
