Journalist ESPN Kristen Shilton expressed the view that Colorado Avalanche’s main task for this summer is to extend the contract with Russian forward Valery Nichushkin.
“Nichushkin had the best regular season of his career and a great playoff. As an unrestricted free agent, he deserves a substantial pay raise as his $5 million two-year contract is about to expire,” Shilton said.
According to the results of the completed draw, Nichushkin scored nine goals. Nikita Kucherov of Tampa took second place and had eight accurate shots. The top three were closed by Kirill Kaprizov of Minnesota Wild (7).
Colorado is a three-time Stanley Cup winner. They also won the tournament in 1996 and 2001.
The trophy was last awarded in Russia in September 2021 as part of the victory celebrations for Tampa Bay players Nikita Kucherov, Mikhail Sergachev and Andrey Vasilevsky.
