Former Real Madrid football player Robinho will be sentenced to prison for rape in Brazil. This was reported by RMC Sports.
Former Real Madrid striker Robinho, 40, was sentenced to nine years in prison by the Italian court for gang rape. The incident occurred in 2013, when the striker was playing for Milan. Robinho and his four friends sexually assaulted a citizen of Alabania who was celebrating his birthday that day.
Robinho’s defense will appeal the decision and ask him to wait for a free hearing of the appeal, which could delay his arrest. The case will also be referred to Italy’s Supreme Federal Court.
Robinho played for Real Madrid from 2005 to 2008. He made 101 appearances for Los Blancos. With the club he won the Spanish title twice and won the country’s Super Cup.
The Brazilian player is also known for his performances at Manchester City and Milan. The striker played in China and Brazil in the last years of his career.
