Russian Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov was recognized as the first star of November in the National Hockey League (NHL). This has been reported official website of the organization.
The Russian player surpassed second-place Colorado Avalanche defender Cale Makar and Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes in the voting for this championship. They recorded 25 points (4+21) and 22 points (5+17) respectively in the November matches. Kucherov has 28 points (9+19).
Kucherov leads the race for top scorers in the current NHL season. The Russian forward scored 15 goals and 24 assists in 23 matches. Tampa sits eighth in the Eastern Conference with 25 points after 24 NHL games. On December 2, the team will play against Dallas.
Kucherov finished fourth (30+82) in the NHL regular season last season, behind David Pastrnak (113 points), Leon Draisaitl (129 points) and Connor McDavid (153 points).
