Russian figure skater, national champion among juniors – 2008, coach Katarina Gerboldt, who also skates in pairs with Alexander Enbert, in a comment to socialbites.ca shared her thoughts about the upcoming stage of the Russian Grand Prix, in which student Evgenia will compete. Plushenko Veronica Zhilina and Adelia Petrosyan, who trained in Eteri Tutberidze’s group for medals in women’s singles.
“I think Veronica Adelia can impose the fight, she is capable of doing that. I think this will be interesting to watch. You know, the season is just starting and in the middle of the season we can talk about who can be called the main rivals, because some did not perform at full strength in test skates, they are gaining shape and momentum. “We will talk about this issue closer to the Russian Championship,” Herboldt said.
He noted that he sees Mark Kondratyuk as the favorite in men’s single skating, but anything can happen.
“He looks like a leader in this squad, but sports are sports and there is always room for interesting things. But in the test skates and in training I saw that Mark is in good shape. I think there will be good performances,” said the coach.
The Russian Grand Prix stage in Omsk will take place from 21 to 22 October.
