Russian racer Nikita Mazepin, who competes in Formula 1, said on his social networks that he was not allowed to enter Europe.
“This does not contribute to the development of a sports career. You cannot move freely and participate in negotiations. However, no one canceled training and competition preparations. I actively take care of my health and try to stay in shape,” Mazepin wrote.
The pilot also noted that he had not visited Europe for 600 days.
At the beginning of June, the 24-year-old was supposed to visit England to begin negotiations with racing teams. Around 70% of racing teams are based in the country and any delay could prevent Mazepin from resuming his Formula 1 career in the 2023/24 season.
After the start of SVO, there was not a single Russian representative left in Formula 1. Haas team terminated the contract with Nikita Mazepin.
In April 2023, Mazepin requested that Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly be removed from the sanctions list. The application to the Federal Court claimed that the restrictions prevent Mazepin from racing in Canada, which “catastrophically reduces” his chances of returning to Formula 1 in 2024.
Previously at Haas reported a conflict Mazepin and Schumacher.
