Lightweight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Islam Makhachev has announced that he wants to fight against heavyweight promotion champion Leon Edwards.
“I want to fight the next Leon. In October in Abu Dhabi,” Makhachev wrote on social networks.
On March 19, Edwards defeated US representative, Nigerian Kamaru Usman, at #286 in the main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship tournament.
For Edwards, this was his first championship defense: he is the heavyweight champion of promotion. The fight lasted all five rounds declared by the rules and ended with a decision of the referees in favor of Edwards – 48-46, 48-46, 47-47.
Earlier it was reported that Azerbaijani fighter Rafael Fiziev was killed. acceptance American athlete Justin Gaethje is in the 286 co-main fight of the Absolute Fighting Championship. The fight lasted for three rounds determined by the rules and ended with the victory of Gaethje by the referee’s decision.
