The press service chief for the U.S. State Department, Ned Price, indicated that Washington views Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s planned visit to Iran as a clear sign of the deepening partnership between Moscow and Tehran. He conveyed this assessment to reporters, referencing information conveyed by TASS.

Price also pointed out that the United States has long expressed concern about the closer alignment between Iran and Russia. He stressed that Washington is monitoring the evolving relationship with close attention, given its potential implications for regional and global stability.

On March 13, Lukashenko held a formal meeting with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi. The discussions centered on expanding bilateral collaboration across a broad range of sectors, with a strong emphasis on trade and economic ties. The leaders explored cooperation in industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, and considered implications for regional security and the broader international landscape. The dialogue underscored a joint commitment to advancing practical projects and reinforcing mutual interests in the two countries.

Following the talks, the two governments announced a Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation covering 2023-2026. Raisi suggested that Lukashenko’s visit would mark a pivotal starting point for stepping up Iran-Belarus relations, highlighting shared goals and long-term strategic alignment in multiple domains.
