The Sejm Debates and the Dismissal Debate Involving Krzysztof Bosak and Grzegorz Braun
The vice chairman of the Sejm and a politician from Confederation, Krzysztof Bosak, appeared on the program Day of the Week on Radio ZET. The broadcast touched on the controversy surrounding Confederation MP Grzegorz Braun inside the Sejm and questioned whether the left would push for the dismissal of the Vice-Chairman from the Confederation ranks.
Speaking on the air, Bosak made his position clear. He said the club had publicly condemned Braun’s behavior and that Braun had already faced suspension. Yet Bosak cautioned against making a big reaction, arguing that collective responsibility should be the real measure and that his own position as Deputy Marshal should not be the target of a sensational campaign.
– his remarks referenced by Bosak, as he spoke about Braun’s actions.
The host, Andrzej Stankiewicz, asked Bosak if it was humiliating to lead the meeting after Braun entered the Sejm stage amid the incident, a moment that some saw as losing control and that possibly altered the vote dynamics, as Szymon Hołownia’s intervention appeared to influence the proceedings.
Bosak responded that the Sejm often navigates tense moments where lawmakers seek speaking time and push to be heard in unscripted pauses. He said such tensions are typical in debates and that the left’s motions were not a reflection of his conduct, asserting that censorship is something he would never tolerate, regardless of circumstances.
He added that the incident inside the Sejm chamber could be described as a standard heated exchange, while what happened in the hallway outside the hall represented a scandal for which the MP had already faced significant punishment. He suggested the matter might move toward court proceedings, noting that the case had already been referred to the prosecutor’s office and that the chairman of the Sejm had mentioned contacting the prosecutor general’s office. The process, he predicted, would likely unfold in a particularly swift manner due to the perceived urgency of the situation.
– Bosak then revisited the core topic: an attempt to apply collective responsibility. He argued that this approach was disproportionate to the events in question and cautioned against what he described as an attempt to impose political correctness in retaliation for the incident.
He warned that the Confederation would not be swayed by media pressure and would not abandon its principles or stance in the face of public opinion. The deputy chairman emphasized that the party would stand firm and that the stance taken was about defending autonomy and resisting what he characterized as external censorship or coercion.
