Strategic clash grows as Valencia appeals to TSJ over Municipal Cooperation Fund

During his current tenure there have been persistent tensions between the Diputación de Alicante and the Generalitat Valenciana. Of course, none has been as consequential as the dispute over travel-related measures funded by the Municipal Cooperation Fund, an initiative promoted by the Council. This week adds another chapter as the provincial agency announced that the Valencian Community will appeal to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to seek a precautionary suspension of the investment program. The move comes at a time when the government team led by the PP, with Cs support, faces growing pressure to finalize their 2023 accounts alongside PSPV and Compromís. An extraordinary general meeting is scheduled at the Provincial Palace on Thursday to approve the objection and set the stage for the next steps from the Provincial Assembly.
