State Duma Focus: Budget Priorities and Support for Military Operation Participants

In the autumn session, the political group aligned with United Russia plans to center its activity in the State Duma on initiatives that directly affect participants in the special military operation in Ukraine, as outlined by the first deputy chairman of the faction, Dmitry Vyatkin. He indicated that the leading project for the period will continue to be the federal budget, a perennial focal point of the autumn hearings and deliberations.

The party has identified a core package of priority bills that aim to bolster support for those who took part in the special operation and for their families, while also promoting the growth of volunteering and civic service. Vyatkin stressed that the foremost task of the faction when reviewing and approving the budget is to guarantee that the state meets its social commitments to its citizens. He also noted that carrying forward the decrees issued by the president would be a key consideration in the legislative process, underscoring the alignment between executive directives and parliamentary action.

Looking back, the spring session delivered a broad legislative output, with a substantial number of new laws enacted, underscoring the parliament’s capacity to respond to evolving national priorities and public needs. The autumn agenda, therefore, builds on that momentum, aiming to translate policy aims into concrete measures that affect everyday life, welfare programs, and the social safety net while sustaining the country’s financial and strategic objectives.
