The Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, indicated that Russia’s new Foreign Policy Concept would be released in the near future, according to reports from TASS.
During a briefing, Peskov responded to a journalist’s question by saying the document would appear in the coming days, referencing the New Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation as reported by socialbites.ca.
He added that he did not expect Russia to amend its core strategic documents in response to the pause in Russia’s participation in the START treaty framework, specifically the measures for further reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms.
Earlier statements by Peskov emphasized that Russia would not exit the essence of the START regime, as the treaty’s primary goal is to preserve strategic parity.
According to Peskov, the suspension of Russia’s participation in the agreement stems from what Moscow describes as demanding and impractical conditions tied to START-related inspections, conditions that the United States and certain other nations reportedly pressed during the ongoing conflict.
