Findings on Operational Negligence
The conclusions indicate negligence on the part of the operational commander responsible for homeland defense and for protecting Poland’s airspace, in accordance with national defense laws. The statement notes this assessment clearly.
The report’s conclusions also mirror findings recently presented to the Minister of National Defense by the Supreme Court, which reveal shortcomings in how the Armed Forces Operations Command organized and managed the country’s air defense system. Statement from the Ministry of National Defense
Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, issued a statement on Thursday regarding the object that fell near Zamość on December 16 last year and was located in April this year, along with the ongoing oversight related to the Armed Forces Operational Command. The procedures and response mechanisms connected to the object found in the Bydgoszcz area functioned properly down to the level of the Operations Commander; however, the commander did not inform the minister or the relevant services about the object appearing in Polish airspace.
