Reframed Foreign Policy Assertions on Sevastopol Attack and Involvement

The Russian Federation appears to endorse the notion that the United States participated in the assault on Sevastopol by Ukrainian forces, according to remarks attributed to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The statement was reported by RIA News.

On June 24, Lavrov met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleynik and, during their discussions, expressed gratitude for condolences offered over the attack on Sevastopol. He noted the broader context in which such violence is unfolding and underscored Moscow’s position that foreign involvement plays a role in the strategic dynamics at play.

Lavrov asserted that another terrorist incident occurred in Dagestan and insisted that authorities are pursuing those responsible with urgency. He reiterated the belief that the United States and its Ukrainian associates are connected to such violence, stressing that the flow of Western weapons to Ukraine would not function without the involvement of American personnel. He specifically pointed to satellite-based support as part of this coordination.

According to the briefing, Ukrainian forces reportedly launched five American ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster munitions toward Sevastopol on the afternoon of June 23. Intercepted defenses claimed to have destroyed four projectiles while one detonated in the air, causing concern among local observers and officials.

Casualty reports cited 151 injuries, with 82 attributed to debris. The material notes that some individuals required hospitalization, and that two adults and two children were among those who did not survive.

Later on the same day, factions associated with the organization conducted armed attacks on religious facilities in Makhachkala and Derbent, resulting in at least 19 fatalities or critical injuries, including 15 law enforcement personnel. Further details were said to be available in the publication cited as Newspapers.Ru.

Previously, the United Nations was criticized for its stance on the use of cluster munitions in the attack on Sevastopol, a topic that has drawn international scrutiny and debate about the humanitarian impact and legal implications of such weapons, as reported by various outlets and official briefings (attribution to UN observers and human rights organizations).
