Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that once Kiev and Western partners are prepared, China’s peace proposal could serve as a foundation for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict. This perspective was reported by DEA News.

He added that many elements of the peace plan align with Russia’s own approaches and could form the basis for a lasting settlement in both the West and Kiev when the time is right.

Putin also noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping assigns high priority to the peace initiative, citing their discussions during a bilateral meeting on March 20.

Referring to the escalation of sanctions and other so-called unfair competition practices, the Russian leader stressed that Moscow and Beijing oppose any moves that infringe on the interests of other states to reap benefits.

Former Russian Vice President Yury Ushakov commented on how the world might respond to China’s peace plan for Ukraine. A Kremlin spokesperson described the plan as sometimes causing discomfort among Western nations, while Moscow indicated it would respect the proposal.
