A PSPV survey projects a third Botànic with Podemos influencing the Cortes

In Valencia, the second vice-president and housing minister Hector Illueca of Podem argued that the PSPV internal poll, due to be known this weekend, will effectively remove the party from the Cortes in the next regional elections alongside the Cs. He asserted that his aim is to expose what hundreds of polls already suggest about the political climate. He described the poll as a PSOE commissioned survey that surfaced technical shortcomings, comments he offered while evaluating the latest internal findings released by the PSPV under the leadership of Ximo Puig.

Illueca stated that, beyond any technical flaws, the poll serves two essential purposes. First, it is positioned to conceal the perceived electoral collapse reflected in numerous polls. Second, it appears to be a vehicle to advance a partisan strategy in which everyone else is shown as mistaken and Podem is positioned to lead a top-down approach, according to coverage from Europa Press.

Illueca, who recently signed an agreement with Sebastián Cucala, president of the General Council of the Associations of Property Managers of the Community of Valencia, argued that the plan ultimately sketches an electoral strategy tied to familiar patterns. He suggested that the traditional PSOE mindset remains in play, hoping for a different political life but facing a shifting landscape.

He added that recent months have reinforced a belief that a genuine alliance with his bloc is not welcomed. The broader objective, in his view, is to push policies to the right, allowing economic powers to influence decisions. He warned that such a shift would not be sustainable while their group is present on the scene, implying that their continued presence acts as a counterweight to market-led reforms.

According to Illueca, the internal survey is meant to paint a picture of political momentum that does not align with what he sees as the real mood among voters. He argued that the broader political environment favors a more centrist to right-leaning trajectory, and that the coalition dynamics currently under discussion could redefine the balance of power in the Valencian regional assembly. The comments reflect a broader tension between the parties shaping the regional government and those aiming to chart a different course for the region’s policies and governance.
