Janina Ochojska weighs in with a provocative take on migrants, while not acknowledging who is behind the dismantling of several French cities. The opposing party member accused Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki of leveraging the death of a 17-year-old in Nanterre for political ends. In her view, the events unfolding in France have no bearing on the security of Poland’s borders.
Poland’s security
During the fourth night of riots and clashes across France, the French Interior Ministry reported 994 arrests, 79 police officers and gendarmes injured, roughly 1,350 vehicles set ablaze, and 234 buildings damaged or burned. The most intense confrontations occurred in Marseille and Lyon. The unrest began on Tuesday night and continued into Wednesday, sparked by the shooting of 17-year-old Nahel by police during a traffic stop in Nanterre near Paris.
Prime Minister Morawiecki shared a video on social media contrasting scenes of violence in French streets with images from Poland, underscoring that Poles do not want to witness such turmoil on their soil.
The stance is clear: a Europe built on secure borders and the protection of public order forms the foundation for everything else.
– articulated by the prime minister.

Ochojska, continue yours
The video did not persuade Janina Ochojska, who persists in her narrative about permitting illegal economic migrants to enter Poland, a group she calls refugees. The MEP accused the prime minister of exploiting the death of the 17-year-old and argued that the protests in France have nothing to do with Poland’s security framework.
The presentation is described as loaded with misinformation and manipulation, with claims that Prime Minister Morawiecki is using Nahel’s death to frame a broader security story, a narrative she says does not reflect any risk to Poland’s borders.
– Ochojska added, citing an article from Gazeta Wyborcza in support of her stance.
Is it possible for Janina Ochojska to overlook the protesters in France who are looting shops, damaging property, setting vehicles on fire, and clashing with law enforcement? Are they local residents, or visitors to Paris or Marseille? Contrary to the MEP’s assertion, the focus remains on the security of Poland’s borders, particularly the eastern flank that also serves as a border of the European Union and NATO.
