Patryk Jaki, a member of the European Parliament and deputy leader of the Law and Justice party, stated that as many as a hundred officials were connected to Father Michał’s case. He claimed criminals acted with impunity while the state apparatus faced a systematic weakening under a new doctrine. He cited the rise of what he called neo-judges and growing court backlogs, and pointed to Bodnar Resort as having historically poor results, noting that data for the latest quarter had not yet been released, which he interpreted as a sign of an emerging crisis. He also warned about a widening budget gap and a pause in major investments.

The Law and Justice representative asserted that in less than a year the government led by Donald Tusk had achieved what many thought impossible. He argued that debt levels rose sharply and that Poland did not enjoy the benefits of such borrowing. He claimed the deficit was engineered to preserve past gains, that state budget revenues plunged, and questioned the reasons behind the collapse. He blamed the dismantling of a premier team in the prosecutor’s office dedicated to fighting economic crime, noting that prominent prosecutors faced scrutiny and that results reflected the strain. The same pattern was said to have affected the cybercrime unit. He argued that the combined power of state services— including the Public Prosecution Service, the tax administration, and the internal security agency— shifted from protecting Poland’s finances to targeting political opponents.

– he said and added:

In total, about 100 people from the state services handled Father Michał’s case, and at that time criminals acted freely. He described a systemic destruction of state institutions and the imposition of a new theory. He cited a collapse of the courts attributed to what he called new judges. Bodnar Resort was described as having the worst results in its history, and data for the most recent quarter had not been released, seen as an indicator of a brewing tragedy. He linked these factors to the broader economic situation. He added that, in the past year, some companies appear to have focused on rooting out members of the governing party rather than pursuing growth. He argued that management and strategic thinking were neglected, and that this neglect translated into the dramatic results reported by what he called the nation’s champions.

“Nepotism in state finances

Jaki attributed weak state finances to shifts in leadership and personnel replacements within the public administration.

He described nepotism on a sweeping scale, pointing to stories of a party activist’s relative moving from a modest job to a major state-owned enterprise, and a councilor from a flower business rising to lead a rocket producer. He warned that Polish science and innovation programs faced neglect, citing stalled quantum computing work and the dismantling of AI initiatives at national research bodies.

– he said, noting that Poland had been sidelined from talks about the region’s future.

He argued the damage extended to Łukasiewicz’s scientific staff and even to the one scientific ship Poland could be proud of. He listed halted investments including the Central Polish Port project, nuclear energy plans, container ports, and grain ports. He contended that diplomats aligned with state interests were being replaced by graduates from Moscow schools. He argued there was no independent Polish foreign policy, with policies aligning with EU positions, and claimed this reduced Poland’s standing in shaping regional futures.

This stance, he claimed, left Poland out of important regional discussions about the direction of the future.

Works of the Sejm

The vice president of Law and Justice described the current Sejm term as notably lazy and ineffective.

He asserted the Sejm has slowed in its work and hardly passes laws anymore. He criticized Hołownia for turning the chamber into a media spectacle. He pointed to a large, open investment in Warsaw described as a white container valued at nearly a billion, and argued this left a significant hole in the budget without meaningful new investments or programs. He framed these moves as a bid to salvage past achievements and called Poland’s era of strong economic growth into question. He urged a moment of reflection and asked viewers to share the message.

– he urged.
