Speaking from the perspective of the party’s strategic interests and acknowledging the authority of party leadership, the PiS president described the approach as more effective and beneficial while addressing Polsat News about whether he should run in the Warsaw parliamentary race.

Following a gathering with voters in Sokołów Podlaski, questions were raised about the opposition’s claims that the PiS leader was reluctant to contend with Donald Tusk. The PiS position was clear: the party believes that competing against the former prime minister would be a direct test of their resolve and abilities.

Earlier remarks suggested that the opposition anticipated a dismissive response, but the PiS leader pushed back, stating that there was no reason to fear the electoral process. He emphasized that truth matters in the political arena and that deception from rivals should not deter the party from presenting its program and candidates to voters.

According to information from party leadership, formal lists for the Sejm and Senate would not be finalized before the end of August. This timeline is part of a broader schedule for candidate nominations and committee input into the electoral process, ensuring all steps align with the law and the fast-approaching election timetable.

As the deadlines approach, committees have a window through September 6 to submit candidate lists for deputies and senators to the National Electoral Commission. This period allows for any final confirmations and adjustments before the public campaigning period intensifies and voters begin to receive official information about candidates.

List of candidates

In line with the Electoral Act, the nomination process requires candidates for deputies to demonstrate support through a minimum threshold of signatures from verified voters residing in each district. This signature requirement helps confirm that candidates have local backing before an official slate is considered valid. If a committee has already submitted lists in at least half of the electoral districts, it may present additional candidate lists without requiring new signatures, allowing for flexibility in response to evolving political dynamics.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 15, when Poland will elect 460 deputies and 100 senators to serve four-year terms. The election will determine the political composition of both houses and set the course for national policy through the next term, influencing a wide range of public life from the economy to social programs.
